June Events
June is here and there is lots going on in the Red Lake & Ear Falls area! Many anglers have returned to the area for their annual fishing trips and have already experienced sunny, rainy and even snowy conditions since opening weekend. So as we enter into June, we hope for sunnier days and that the fish keep biting!
Though as much as we all love to be on the lake fishing, there are some other great activities that you may want to check out while in the Red Lake Area. Red Lake: An Exhibit by Harriet Carlson is fashion photography at it's finest. Did you know that all the photographs in this collection were taken last year right in Red Lake? Whether you are interested in fashion, photography or not, it's definitely worth stopping by the Red Lake Regional Heritage Centre and seeing the amazing work. Did I mention that Harriet is from Red Lake?
On June 8 & 9 be sure to head to the Dan Kucheran Ball Field to take part in this years Red Lake Pow Wow. There will be a Grand Entrance on the evening of June 8 at 6:00pm; and again at 12:00Noon on June 9. It's a great opportunity to come and learn more about our First Nations culture, listen to the drums, watch the dancers, and partake in the dancing too. There is always lots to see and do!
Although the Norseman Floatplane Festival isn't until July, they are getting things started with Red Lake Rocks the Runway II on June 23! This years band is a tribute band called FREERIDE, so be ready to dance to 50's/60's rock review, the Beatles and a salute to the 70's! Along with free parking, their will also be a complimentary bus service.
Be sure to check out our Event Calendar for more upcoming events and more information on the events listed above! And don't forget to follow us on our Blog, Twitter & Facebook accounts!
